Broadband Internet services in India is gearing up for another revolution. Bharti Airtel, India’s largest telecom operator, launches 8Mbps broadband service in Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata, Delhi, and the NCR region, with a subsequent roll-out planned in Mumbai and Hyderabad. Though the tariff details for the offering is not available, company sources says the pricing would be around Rs.2000 for 7 GB-8 GB download limit. With 8Mbps speed, Airtel network is getting ready for the proposed IPTV services.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), India’s one of the biggest telecom operators, plans to bundle broadband with all the new lines which it will install hereafter. Existing landlines will also be bundled with broadband and this conversion will be completed before this month end. Customers will not be charged anything additional for this broadband enabled landlines and after this, any landline , non broadband customer can also login to the net for free.
