Rediff iLand, the blogging and social networking site of popular portal Rediff.com has introduced transliteration tools for 8 Indian regional languages. Languages includes Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali and Gujarati. Users can now type in their normal English keyboard and get typed in their preferred regional languages by typing phonetically. Rediff expects that this kind of removal of language barrier will increase the number of blogs and bloggers in India to a considerable amount.
