Rapidshare.com is one of the most popular sites for sharing any type of files including softwares, games, videos , ebooks, images etc. Though most of the files are illegal and against copyrights, most of us are using the site atleast once in a while. The major problem with rapidshare and the similar file hosting services are unavailability of search options. Unless or otherwise one knows the url of the uploaded file, it is very difficult to identify and download the file from these sites.

Rapidshare1.com is an ultra cool search engine designed to search files from Rapidshare.com. On querying the keyword for any file, the site fetches a result set of rapidshare links. Clicking the link will direct to the usual rapidshare download page. The UI of the site is as simple as Google search engine page and the tag cloud at the bottom of the page, which lists the popular keyword searched, may help download savvys to download the popular downloads. The site also provides an firefox extension which helps to search rapidshare.com directly from the search bar in the Firefox browser(But the addon was not working for me when i tried; may be due to some misconfiguration).  Though i’m not sure,  i assume searching is done using Google custom search engine - Google COOP.

Overall it is a cool site and definitely a very helpful tool for frequent downloaders. Forget to mention that this site is not anyway related to Rapidshare.com or Rapidshare.de
